Oxidation Vs Reduction - In Organic Chemistry

Oxidation Vs Reduction - In Organic ChemistryOxidation or Reduction Organic Chemistry, which is the study of the nature of organic substances and its properties, is the study of the reactions of these organic substances with each other. There are a number of reactions involved in organic chemistry but the two most important are oxidation and reduction. In the first reaction, the oxidation occurs, where the organic substance dissolves into a simpler substance less that its own weight. The simplest oxidation occurs when a substance contains no water. An example of oxidation is the oxidation of iron (Fe). It takes place when the iron in a solution (biotin) forms an oxide and the substance become reduced, resulting in a red-colored substance. In the second reaction, the oxidation takes place, where the simpler substance that is dissolved in the oxidized substance becomes larger. The simplest oxidation is when sulfur (S) forms a sulfate ion by combining with another molecule of sulfur. For ming oxides also occurs when a compound is able to combine with another compound such as the dimerization of a phenyl radical with an amine or the reduction of two molecules of a base with a third molecule of a base. Both are known as molecular bonding. An example of oxidation occurs when two molecules of the same element, but different numbers of electrons, are joined in a bond that results in the formation of a molecule.Reduction takes place when one organic substance interacts with another. This is known as electrochemical reduction. This type of reduction occurs when two organic compounds are combined through the electrochemical process. Reduction and oxidation are two of the basic ways in which molecules interact in a chemical reaction.Reduction is known to be one of the most important reactions in organic chemistry. Oxidation is associated with the oxidation of molecular groups and can take place when one atom forms a bond with another atom on the molecule. Reduction involves the reduction of a molecule to simpler ones.Toxidation a reduction organic chemistry Since reduction is a type of chemical reaction that is observed in organic chemistry, it is essential to understand both oxidation and reduction in order to fully understand organic chemistry. If this is not done properly, then there can be difficulties in deciphering the chemical reactions taking place within the chemical reactions.Reduction has been used for years to assist in the performance of chemical and biological warfare agents. Reduction is used to eliminate the solvents and liquids from biological agents. It has been used successfully in large scale applications by government agencies to eliminate the chemical components from weapons and biological agents.A good understanding of oxidation and reduction is imperative to the success of any organic chemistry experiment. Without these basic understanding of organic chemistry, it is very difficult to understand what is occurring within the rea ctions. It is possible to use a calculator to assist with such calculations. The use of calculators is very helpful in organic chemistry experiments as it aids in the calculation of the exact percent of the oxidation.

Addiction Isnt Stupid Why Stigmas Arent The Cure

Addiction Isn't 'Stupid' Why Stigmas Aren't The Cure Photos Via News.com.au and Google.com Homeless people are lazy. Online daters are desperate. Depression isnt a real disease. Rape victims deserved it. Drug addicts are stupid. Whether or not you agree with any of the following social stigmas above, there are many people in this world who do and, sadly, those people tend to speak the loudest. Following the death of actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, there has been a mass amount of disgusting responses to the drug-induced tragedy than simply acknowledging his passing or the unfortunate reality of drug addiction and overdose. In 2010 there was an estimated 22.6 million Americans over the age of 12 that were current or former illicit drug users within the last month of when the survey was given, equating to about 8.9 percent of the population. After receiving much backlash on Twitter and other social networking platforms upon the actors death, the nation still feels the need to justify death and why people get what they deserve. If Health is much more than  not being able to find something wrong but how its about what people feel as stated by Dartmouth professor Dr. H. Gilbert Welch, then why do we still treat drug addicts like they are sinners in the hands of an angry God and not as suffers of an actual psychological disease? Photo Via Jezebel.com Well, there may be two reasons for that: 1. Humans unintentionally regress back to common negative examples of drug addictions they have seen or heard of before, also known as blindly giving into the availability heuristic. 2. Humans constantly pit against one another in terms of who has it the hardest. Using this reasoning, a human isnt allowed to feel sad or depressed if someone else has it worse than them (you have an anxiety disorder? Well guess what, there are starving children in Africa, so youre not allowed to feel bad about your crippling anxiety disorder). Photo Via Dailymail.co.uk As a culture, we are conditioned to see genocide, rape and random murders as sad, because they most certainly are. What some people fail to recognize is that the meaning of sad can be extended to accommodate other issues that may be stigmatized to be not considered sad, such as alcoholism, failing out of school, poverty, and in this particular instance, drug addiction. To justify ones idea that something is not sad, one may use the relative privation fallacy, a fallacy that attempts to make a scenario better or worse by comparing it to the best or worst case scenario. Using this justification, nothing can ever be sad if its pinned up against the Holocaust or brain cancer. Photo Via Twitter.com The reason this current controversy is, dare I say, a somewhat positive example, is because it illuminates the reality of drug addiction and aids in spreading awareness of addiction via the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman. This in turn may promote others to recognize their own condition or the condition of anothers and people may consequently seek help. Many disapprove of publicizing celebrity mental illness and addiction because they believe it glamorizes their troubled and harmful lifestyles, but theres too much evidence backing up the increase of people seeking help after Demi Lovato spoke about bipolar disorder  and Magic Johnson announced he tested positive for HIV.  The key idea to opening up about these unspoken aspects of human health is to, in return, open up the minds of others to recognize the normalcy of these conditions and how seeking psychological and psychiatric help is not something to be ashamed of. If the average person takes a step back  to recognize Philip  Seymour Hoffman, or any celebrity for that matter, as a human being of flesh and blood and not a cardboard cutout at your local Regal cinema, the realization that addiction is a serious physical and psychological issue may become a deeper knife wound rather than a senseless or stupid paper cut.

January 28th is Data Privacy Day Choose Good Passwords and Hardware Wallets, Avoid Sensitive Posts

January 28th is Data Privacy Day Choose Good Passwords and Hardware Wallets, Avoid Sensitive Posts Today, January 28th is data privacy day. This day should remind us to protect our privacy, control our digital footprint and even to keep our money safe. How do we do that? For starters, Choose Good Passwords A good password  consists  of at least three types of characters: lowercase letters [a-z], uppercase letters [A-Z]and number [0-9]. They are also at least 8 characters long. Visit passwordsgenerator.net to generate such a password, for example: Hf9lyIwury6WX4Mv Never pick a password from this list: 12345612345678passwordqwertyabc123111111iloveyouadobe123123123adminphotoshoppassword1trustno1000000 Social Media Understand that all of your posts, pictures and comments on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter is stored forever. Practically, advertisers and the government have access to this information, create profiles about you. They then can better target ads or classify you as potential security threat. Be aware of this and constrain your digital footprint to nonsensitive areas. Keep Money Safe If you do online backing, good passwords are crucial. Better yet, use two-factor authentication (2FA). Essentially, whenever you log into your backing account, a code is sent to an authenticator app on your phone. You must read this code and enter when logging. Should you be fortunate enough to own crypto currencies such as bitcoin, your private keys are of utmost importance. If you lose them, or they are stolen, then no one can help. Therefore, my recommendation is: Hardware Wallets: Use hardware wallets to keep your private keys safe. A hardware wallet is a flash drive like device, designed specifically for storing your bitcoins. The Nano Ledger or  Trezor  brands are good choices.   Rememberbetter safe than sorry.

What Is Smarthinking Online Tutoring?

What Is Smarthinking Online Tutoring?Smarthinking online tutoring is rapidly becoming an increasingly popular way to improve and maintain your grades. In this article, I will quickly go over what smarthinking online tutoring is and why it is becoming so popular. If you have never heard of smarthinking online tutoring before, I encourage you to check out this article as it will go into some detail about the process and what it means for you.Smarthinking online tutoring is based on using your computer's internet connection to provide you with online help and advice. These tutors are often identified by name. Often the name is your instructor who know you well enough to write down the facts that you need to know in order to continue to study, but you do not know them. They work by typing out and answering all of your homework questions, and showing you what information to study next. You then follow the information and help they have provided you with in order to get a better grade. Some students prefer this method of teaching because it allows them to learn at their own pace, as opposed to having to sit through classes where they can't really study. It is also important to note that you are the one who must really get things done - you don't have a tutor that will make the time to talk to you, which would be very difficult for some students to get around. This is not to say that you don't need this kind of help; it simply means that if you want to get the best grade possible on your work, you will be forced to get your work done on your own time and in your own way. There are many more benefits that come from smarthinking than just getting good grades. One benefit is that you have the option of selecting which courses you would like to take if you had to do it all over again. You could choose from a variety of choices such as foreign languages, economics, business, or health studies. A smarthinking course would allow you to pursue a lot of different career options and learn at your own pace, giving you the ability to gain the knowledge and skills that you need to succeed at whatever it is you decide to take up.A great advantage to this style of teaching is that there is usually very little or no opportunity for you to get distracted or lose concentration. You would learn more from the materials that you were given than you would from an instructor that was taking part in the conversation that was going on. The benefits of smarthinking online tutoring can be seen as the lifeblood of almost any kind of class that you are involved in, because you learn by doing. If you truly want to get good grades on any assignment or class you are in, it is important to take the time to make sure that you are working on the right material. If you are doing so you will be able to focus on getting the right work done. This will prevent you from getting bored and eventually cause you to forget about what you are studying and start to spend less time on it, resulti ng in even more mistakes and a lower grade. If you want to improve your grades and set yourself up for a bright future, it is critical that you take the time to do your best. This can be achieved through smarthinking online tutoring, which can help you do just that.
